John Conrad, Jr. Scholarship

The Need Remains Significant

Each of the children who attends the Children’s Center receives financial aid. Our highest tuition rate of $200 per week covers less than half the actual cost of our quality programs. Based on demonstrated need, the majority of our student families also receive additional financial assistance.

Each year the St. James’s Children’s Center makes another special award: The John Conrad Scholarship. Established in 2012, the scholarship is named for John Conrad Jr., a young Richmond resident who passed away at age 14 of tubular sclerosis complex a progressive genetic disease.

This annual scholarship recognizes a student’s family for their commitment to providing their child with the best education. To be considered for the scholarship, families are asked to apply by the application deadline. All applications will be reviewed by the John Conrad Scholarship committee. The award is determined strictly on the application responses rather on level of need or other information about a child or family. The John Conrad Scholarship award recipient(s) are announced each spring at our Graduation Ceremony.

  • demonstrate a dedication to the Children’s Center

  • demonstrate a true commitment to the education of their child

  • recognize how the Children’s Center is beneficial to their child

For those of you who are able, we would ask you to please consider making a gift to the John Conrad, Jr. Scholarship Fund to support of our wonderful children.
